Plymouth Community Ambulance Association (PCAA) is a 911 Emergency only, Advanced Life Support, Paramedic Ambulance Service.

Plymouth Ambulance, known as Montgomery County Medic 308 responds to over 14,000 emergency calls for service annually. This call volume makes Plymouth Ambulance the busiest ambulance squad in Montgomery County.

In order to handle the continuous volume of calls, Plymouth Ambulance staffs four stations 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A “Float” or systems management unit, is also always on status and staffed by a squad officer/supervisor. This unit handles both initial dispatch and second calls for each zone or sector when the primary unit is busy. The Float ambulances also responds to serious calls which require more resources and an officer such as trauma, rescue, building collapses and fire calls to mention a few. An additional Float unit is placed on status during peak hours, inclement weather, mass casualty incidents and weekdays.

Suburban Community Hospital and Einstein are the primary destination facilities, and are both centrally located within our service area. These two local general hospitals are capable of handling most cases including interventional cardiac catheterization, stroke CVA/TIA and maternity. Specialty resource centers are often used for cases involving trauma, burns, and pediatrics including Hospital of University of Pennsylvania, Temple, and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia respectively.

Plymouth Ambulance maintains a professional working mutual aid relationship with local police, fire, and air-medical services to ensure that the most efficient and effective public safety service is consistently provided.
