On July 30, 2024 Plymouth Ambulance Chief Thomas Trojansky, Battalion Chief Matthew Wells and EMT Sabine Homa were awarded the FBI Medal for Meritorious Achievement at the FBI Headquarters in Washington D.C.

The FBI Medal for Meritorious Achievement is awarded for extraordinary and exceptional meritorious service in a duty of extreme challenge and great responsibility, extraordinary and exceptional achievements in connection with criminal or national security cases, or a decisive, exemplary act that results in the protection or the direct saving of life in severe jeopardy in the line of duty.

Chief Thomas Trojansky, Battalion Chief Matthew Wells and EMT Sabine Homa were among five bomb technicians who were on a training mission in Montgomery County in the fall of 2022 when they found themselves in the middle of a blast zone after a devastating accident.

Chief Trojansky, Battalion Chief Well’s and EMT Homa immediately rendered advanced care to the injured law enforcement personnel who had suffered serious life threatening injuries.  These individuals displayed acts of bravery and professionalism in their duties to save lives.
